Burgundian Sallet is made from 16 gauge steel and it neck plate is well-articulated to ensure it does not obstruct movement with the head and neck. The interior is fitted with an adjustable and integrated suspension liner of padded canvas cotton which can be adjusted to fit. A chin strap of durable leather with a brass buckle fastens the helmet to the head.
This style of late Medieval helmet takes it name from the contemporary Burgundian and French art which depicts this style as being a very common form of helmet for professional men-at-arms and soldiers. Despite the name it was also a common helmet in England as well.
