This Roman Gallic ‘’I’’ Mainz helm is of 18 gauge brass. The interior of the helmet is blackened and unlined. The cheek plates are hinged and the helm has a central plume holder, as well as two smaller plume holders on the side of the helmet.

The cheek plates have two small rings with which to tie a chin strap onto. A leather chin strap cord is included.
